Job description
Sparrowbush Bakery is looking for an experienced bread baker to assist in bread production for wholesale and farmers markets. You would have a hand in many aspects of our wood-fired baking process, from mixing to shaping and baking high-hydration naturally leavened loaves made entirely with fresh stoneground flour from our New American Stone Mill. We currently make seven different breads and bake 250-500 loaves per day, three to four days per week. In addition, we have a small pastry program highlighting our stoneground flour and the local bounty that we offer at our farmers markets.
This is a perfect opportunity for someone who is interested in taking their bread journey to the next level via high-volume wood-fired bread production alongside a small team of passionate bakers who thrive off doing things the old fashioned way, getting to the core of what makes bread good.
Experience handling high-hydration breads at volume is required. Must be available to work early hours (never earlier than 4am) on weekends. Part-time or full-time negotiable. Candidates must already live or have secured housing in the area as we unfortunately cannot help with relocation at this time.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
