Job description
The Food Hub Sales Director will drive revenue for LINC Foods, directly supporting wholesale accounts, community-focused farms, and local economic development in the Inland Northwest.
The Food Hub Sales Director will manage sales for the wholesale market channel of LINC’s Food Enterprise, which includes servicing institutions, school districts, restaurants, and grocery stores. As part of this vital food hub role, the Food Hub Sales Director will cultivate long-term, value-based relationships with customers.
The Food Hub Sales Director will report to the LINC Foods Circle Lead and work closely with the Procurement Director and Operations team to execute seamless fulfillment.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The position will generate revenue for LINC and its producers by managing the sales activities for LINC Foods wholesale orders.
The core responsibilities of the Food Hub Sales Director include:
● Wholesale Customer Recruitment
o Engaging local groceries, schools, and institutions as wholesale customers
o Participating in focused wholesale growth strategy development
o Securing recurring orders for route reliability
o Act as a key voice in strategic planning for wholesale growth strategy development in the Inland Northwest for LINC and Northwest Food Hub Network (NWFHN) partners
● Wholesale Customer Service
o Completing customer outreach to receive orders and generate sales
o Collaborating with customers to develop annual purchasing plans to achieve sourcing, supply, and order fulfillment efficiencies
o Representing the evolving products offered by LINC Foods and NWFHN partners to customers by maintaining a knowledge base of the evolving catalogs
o Proactively preventing and resolving issues with customers
o Training customers to effectively use our software platform
o Navigating our software platform to place orders, update information, and resolve issues for customers
o Working in collaboration with the Procurement teams at each hub to secure sales commitments for producers
● Order Communication o Coordinating accurate order fulfillment with the LINC Operations Team
o Reporting weekly sales to LINC Circle Leads and Finance Director
Other related assignments as necessary.
Skills and Experience:
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
● 3+ years of sales/territory experience required with tangible, highly competitive skills in the marketplace. Prior food sales or closely related experience strongly preferred.
● Maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of current auto insurance in order to fulfill job duties
COMPETENCIES:
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills to motivate and inspire customers while realistically articulating local food limitations
● Computer proficiency including the ability to navigate sales software and Google Suite
● Ability to track and execute projects involving multiple variables
● Ability to understand and calculate margins, markups, prices, weights, etc.
● Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and collaborate with remote team members
● Ability to travel frequently in a personal vehicle (distances up to 250 miles), walk or stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 40 lbs
● Ability to adapt to challenges in real-time and problem-solve with teammates, suppliers, and/or customers
● Interest in food systems and sustainability
Details:
● $75-80k salary depending on experience
● 40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri
● Hours will vary but take place between 7am and 7pm
● Hours will take place at our warehouse in Spokane Valley, remotely, and on sales calls throughout eastern WA

Compensation
this position is: salaried, varies DOE, $75,000.00 - $80,000.00
