National Family Farm Coalition (NFFC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1986 to serve as a national link for grassroots organizations working on family farm issues. Today, NFFC represents family farmers, ranchers, and rural groups through 30-member groups across 42 states whose members' face the challenge of the deepening economic recession in rural communities caused primarily by low farm prices and the increasing corporate control of agriculture. NFFC provides a voice for grassroots groups on farm, food, trade, and rural economic issues to ensure fair prices for family farmers, safe and healthy food, and vibrant, environmentally sound rural communities here and around the world. Job description
NFFC is seeking a determined, committed, and creative Government Relations to join our team in Washington, DC to identify and further a broad spectrum of policy priorities to realize our goals of fair prices and economic justice for food providers, vibrant rural communities, and a food and agriculture system free of corporate This person’s role encompasses a broad range of strategies designed to influence public policy, including but not limited to advocacy, policy communication, congressional education, and grassroots engagement. An ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of farm and food policy, experience in Capitol Hill advocacy, enthusiasm for lifting up the voices of grassroots organizations, and building coalitions and alliances. The Representative will collaborate with a wide range of NFFC member organizations in their work engaging with members of Congress, public institutions, and Executive branch agencies.
