About your school
The Great Lakes Incubator Farm (GLIF) is dedicated to training the next generation of farmers through a model rooted in regenerative farming practices. At GLIF, we actively engage in continuous learning and are committed to break down barriers for those who want to pursue a career in farming. Located on adjacent to the Boardman-Ottaway River in Traverse City, GLIF provides a unique opportunity to learn how to farm in a gorgeous Northern Michigan landscape.
GLIF offers two main pathways into the program: 1) A 7-month rigorous experiential Farm Training, and 2) An Incubator Farm option. The Training Program offers hands-on farming experience combined with a unique and comprehensive educational curriculum. The Incubator Program is designed for experienced growers who are ready to launch their farm business. Incubator growers have access to land, equipment, tools, post-harvest handling facility, education, mentorship, and more.
