Entering our third year of business, our specialty is hand-crafted, nourishing, friendly fine dining buffets for large groups. We offer two tiers of full service or drop-off, and always with attention to reusable supplies and value-aligned partners like our very supportive and loyal delivery team Piikup, which is based out of Oakland.
Our goal is to continue to serve high-quality handcrafted meals to a variety of communities, and we desire to extend our reach by bringing those same meals to anyone around the table.
Job description
Position: Senior Culinary Lead
The Table Catering is a boutique sustainable East Bay caterer committed to serving locally made meals that are good for your health, our earth and the community. Entering our third year of business, we are adding part time culinary team members with aligned values. This position is ideal for a candidate who is self motivated, has previous culinary experience, wants to gain more culinary and catering experience and leadership opportunities within a small team while maintaining a work life balance. The Senior Culinary lead will hold the following primarily duties in partnership with Chef Peter:
Develop prep lists
Shop weekly for ingredients at local markets
Schedule deliveries from purveyors
Culinary cooking skills to prep for events, primarily large batch cooking
Partner with delivery partner to ensure smooth delivery logistics
Lead on plattering buffets for on site events
Light organization and cleaning of kitchen in partnership with our kitchen lead
Qualifications:
Be passionate about clean food and sustainability
Work quickly, cleanly and efficiently with a sense of purpose
Ability to follow directions and food safety protocol
Team player and respectful, professional and easy going, coachable
Have 1-5 years of culinary and/or catering/operations background
Open to using your own vehicle with business reimbursement
Has the ability to work autonomously
Be familiar with Berkeley markets
Hours
3-4 days per week
20 - 30 hours per week
Location: Berkeley and East Bay
Option and ability to increase hours and responsibility as we grow together.
$28 - 32 per hr, DOE
Primarily weekdays with occasional weekends
Reports to Executive Chef Peter
Start Date: Spring 2025.
Location: Kitchen: Berkeley
Event locations: Primarily East Bay Oakland, Berkeley, nearby cities.
