The Table Catering is a sustainable boutique East Bay caterer committed to serving locally made meals that are good for your health, our earth, and the community. Entering our third year of business, our specialty is hand-crafted, nourishing, friendly fine dining buffets for large groups. We offer two tiers of full service or drop-off, and always with attention to reusable supplies and value-aligned partners like our very supportive and loyal delivery team Piikup, which is based out of Oakland.
Our goal is to continue to serve high-quality handcrafted meals to a variety of communities, and we desire to extend our reach by bringing those same meals to anyone around the table.
Job description
Position: Kitchen Lead
The Table Catering is a sustainable boutique East Bay caterer committed to serving locally made meals that are good for your health, our earth and the community. Entering our third year of business, we are seeking additional part time culinary team members with aligned values. This position is ideal for a candidate who is self motivated, ideally has previous kitchen experience, wants to gain more culinary experience and leadership opportunities within a small team while maintaining a work life balance.

Responsibilities include:
Lead on dishwashing with commercial dishwasher
Gather, organize and inventory kitchen supplies
Support loading and unloading deliveries
Organize and clean walk in fridge regularly
Oversee and implement general kitchen cleaning
Assist with light culinary prep for large batch cooking
Partner with Chef and Culinary Lead both in kitchen and at events
May work large off site catering events as back of house support in partnership with culinary
Qualifications:
Be passionate about food and sustainability
Work cleanly and efficiently with a sense of purpose
Ability to follow directions and food safety protocol
Team player and respectful, is professional and humorous
Have one year+ of kitchen, operations and/ or culinary background
Be comfortable with knives and culinary utensils or willing to learn with additional instruction
Be organized, punctual, and professional
Be new to or 1-2 years in culinary and or catering kitchen space
Schedule:
3 - 4 days per week
Primarily weekdays with occasional weekends
afternoons/evenings
15-25 hours per week
$22-24 per hour DOE
Currently non benefitted W2
Reports to:
Executive Chef Peter, partners with Culinary lead
Location: Berkeley Commercial Kitchen
Secondary location: East Bay Events
Start Date: Start Spring 2025.
