Tenth House, a boutique restaurant in the heart of Friday Harbor, WA, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Front of House (FOH) Manager to lead our service team and oversee dining room operations. At Tenth House, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional dining experiences inspired by the bounty of the Pacific Northwest, and the FOH Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering those experiences to our guests.
As the FOH Manager, you will lead by example, ensuring the team executes service with precision, professionalism, and warmth. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing service, fostering a collaborative team environment, and maintaining the high standards of Tenth House. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and work alongside the front of house team during service, ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
- Oversee daily operations of the dining room, maintaining the flow and timing of service.
- Train, mentor, and motivate FOH staff, fostering a positive and professional work culture.
- Manage scheduling, staffing, and shift coverage to meet operational needs.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety standards in the dining room and bar areas.
- Assist with food and beverage orders, ensuring proper stock levels and inventory accuracy.
- Streamline and improve service systems and processes as needed.
- Act as the point of contact for guest feedback, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Perform administrative tasks such as managing reservations, tracking sales, and documenting team performance.
Qualifications:
- Experience in serving, bartending, and managing a front-of-house team in a high-volume restaurant.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and commitment to excellence in all aspects of service.
- Excellent knowledge of food and beverage, with a willingness to continuously build on that foundation.
- Energetic, detail-oriented, and driven to maintain high standards and complete all tasks thoroughly.
- Proven ability to organize, streamline, and improve existing systems.
- Experience with ordering, scheduling, and general administrative tasks.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills with a collaborative and approachable style.
