Job description
Daytime is looking for a part time (3-4 days a week) baker to join our small bakery team! We’re a small neighborhood cafe with fresh baked goods, breakfast/lunch fare, and a full espresso bar. Daytime has two locations but this position will be located at our bakery outpost in Williamsburg. The position is entry level although kitchen experience is preferred-but we’re willing to train the right fit!
You will be responsible for morning bake off and fully setting up the pastry case before opening hours as well as prep to meet ongoing weekly inventory quotas. We serve a rotating menu of large batch cookies, quick loaves, jams, bars, buns, focaccia, biscuits/scones, pies, cakes and more based on the season. Comfortability following recipes closely, weighing in ingredients, working independently, and strong time management skills are a must. We bake for both locations so you will be responsible for aiding in the organization and fulfillment of inventory for both cafes. You also should be comfortable working on your feet for 8 hours and be able to lift 50 pound bags of flour/sugar.
Schedule is flexible but weekend availability is needed. Shifts start at 6:30 am and usually end around 2:30 but can be amended to fit needs. Looking to start training mid Jan.
