Job description
Maison Jar is looking for a part-time Retail Store Associate for its low-waste grocery store in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Our store is a space for those who wish to consume responsibly and move towards a zero-waste living. That’s why we are looking for a team member who cares for the environment, shares the same value as us around sustainability, transparency, honesty, and who is also dynamic, organized, and fun!
Your main missions are:
- Welcome customers, identify their needs, and guide them through the shopping process
- Carry out checkout operations and update POS when needed
- Receive, verify, and store product deliveries
- Restock shelving and dispensers in accordance with hygiene and food safety rules
- Perform cleaning tasks to ensure the store, equipment and tools are organized, clean and sanitary
- Manage opening and closing operations
- Aid in product selection and curation
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate warm, friendly, high-energy personality with a positive and team-oriented approach
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and the team
- Must be available to work weekdays and weekends for a total of 24 hours per week minimum
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 lbs. on a regular basis up and down stairs
