Ciao! We are a family run pizzeria, specializing in wood-fired pizzas, focaccia, handmade pasta, appetizers, and homemade desserts. We are located in beautiful Sedona, Arizona, a busy tourist destination in Northern Arizona. From opening in 2016, we have grown to become of one the most well-known spots for pizza in Sedona. In 2024 we were awarded the Slow Food Snail of Approval for our efforts in seeking sustainable ingredients and cooking with the slow food values: Good, Clean, and Fair. Gerardo Sr. spent over 8 years cooking and learning in Italy, while his son Gerardo Jr. followed in his footsteps and worked in pizzerias in Piedmont to learn the culture behind pizza making. Gerardo Jr. also interned in one of the best bakeries in Reggio-Emilia to learn how to make panettone, which we make every Christmas season. 

Job description

We are currently seeking a pizza chef who is interested in a full time role with us. The ideal candidate wants to learn more about pizza from start to finish, from making our dough that ferments for 72 hours to operating our wood-burning pizza oven. We believe pizza is an art, so we want the candidate to feel the same way. Some of the duties would include: 
Making pizza dough
Assisting in cutting and shaping dough balls
Assisting in making focaccia and baguette 
Making Sicilian deep pan pizzas
Preparing ingredients for the pizza line 
Stretching and making pizzas during service 
Learning and operating the wood-burning pizza oven
Cleaning the pizza line and checking inventory for the next day preparation

We are looking a candidate that would like to learn everyday and grow with us. You will be working directly with Gerardo Sr., Gerardo Jr., and Maria, so family values and a good attitude is a must. We have owned and operated a restaurant for the past 25 years, so it is a great opportunity for somebody who has a desire to eventually be a restaurateur themselves to learn from our experiences. We speak Italian and Spanish and are consistently looking to grow ourselves, inspired by the culture and ingredients of Italy. 

Being located in Sedona, Arizona, it is a great place for a candidate that enjoys hiking, trail running, or mountain biking as there are hundreds of trails to explore from the famous red rocks. We offer retirement plans after 90 days of employment for our staff. 

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
