Our customers can subscribe to a curated Farm Box or can choose to shop à la carte. We deliver 5 days per week and are rapidly expanding in the NYC market. We have a vast and ever-changing array of fresh produce, meats, dairy, bakery, and pantry items.
Job description
The Junior Buyer will play a key role in both the procurement and presentation of products on Farm to People’s webstore. This position will assist in sourcing products, ensuring accurate and adequate stock levels, and merchandising products and categories in line with company strategy. The Sourcing and Merchandising Coordinator will report to the Senior Buyer.
The main duties and functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Buying
- Create purchase orders based on system suggestions and store/seasonal needs
- Monitor and follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery
- Resolve issues related to delivery delays, shortages, or other supply chain disruptions
- Maintain up-to-date pricing records for all purchased items
- Work with the Senior Buyer and other team members to execute procurement strategies
- Assist in preparing reports on purchasing activities, including cost analysis and supplier performance
Inventory & Cycle Counts
- Execute scheduled and as-needed cycle counts for Cold and Grocery items
- Monitor inventory levels and work closely with the Senior Buyer to ensure optimal stock levels in accordance with seasonal demand shifts
- Ensure that inventory is replenished in a timely manner to avoid stock outs
Merchandising
- Assist in planning and implementing promotional activities on the web store, such as sales, new product launches, or seasonal and holiday offerings
- Organize and maintain website categories to ensure a streamlined and user-friendly shopping experience
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, supply chain or a related field, OR 1-3 years of relevant experience in sourcing and merchandising
- Analytical mindset, with problem-solving capabilities
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to work with data
- Proficiency in Google Sheets
Schedule:
Expected working days for this role are generally set as Sunday-Thursday 9am-5pm and will be in person.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $20.00 - $24.00
