Company description
New Beat Farm is a Certified organic farm growing vegetables, and cut flowers in the heart of Waldo county's rich agricultural community. This beautiful agrarian landscape is also just 15 minutes from the coastal town of Belfast, 35 minutes from Waterville. We are grateful to only be 10 minutes away from MOFGA’s (Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association) education center and the site of their Common Ground Fair.
We work within a mixture of production systems with 1.5 acres in no-till permanent beds and two acres in larger field crop production using our Belgian and Percheron draft horses. Our farm as a whole is comprised of 135 ares of crop land, pasture and forest.
We market our produce and flowers through a year round Multi-Farm CSA, a local farmers market, and a few wholesale outlets. We sell our flowers through the farmers markets, retail shops, and wholesale to other florists, as well as design work for weddings and special events throughout the season.
We farm because it is the best way for us to live by our ideals and give back. We are passionate about providing our community with high quality, nutritious produce and radiant blooms through having a deep commitment to the health of our soils and the agro-ecosystem of our farm as a whole, and farming at a scale where we can stay intimately connected to every row foot of ground we grow on.
