Tenuta San Carlo is a regenerative organic farm immersed in the heart of Maremma, in an area of Southern Tuscany defined by its natural beauty, excellent food, and gentle coastlines. Located within the Regional Park of Maremma (Parco Regionale della Maremma), Tenuta San Carlo produces organic rice, grains, and legumes, and runs an agritourism where international travelers come and stay on the farm. We rent out seven apartments for six months of the year, and host retreats, educational courses, and other workshops on the farm.
Job description
We are seeking someone who can successfully implement and contribute to our agritourism strategy. Through farm stays and a variety of on-farm experiences, we aim to transmit our identity and values as an organic farm with a unique location in a regional natural park – as well as our enthusiasm for rural and sustainable living – to our guests and program participants.
Basic Requirements:
Ability to work in Italy for six months or more
Must have a car and legal permission to drive in Italy
High-level proficiency in Italian (hospitality communication skills, including the ability to interact over email and phone)
Job Responsibilities:
Consistent with the values, objectives, and style of Tenuta San Carlo, implement the agritourism experience for all guests and farm clients;
Coordinate on-farm programs, events, and retreats;
Manage the systems and processes related to the agritourism, including the reservations system and check-in and check-out processes;
Coordinate housekeeping staff and kitchen staff;
Participate in implementation of marketing strategy for the agritourism and of a client management system;
Assist the seasonal opening and closing processes, including apartment improvements and maintenance;
Stay within the agritourism budget and participate in farm-wide budgeting and reporting processes;
Strive to reach agritourism occupancy goals and monitor progress;
Follow rules and procedures related to regulatory compliance; and
Participate in farm-wide planning and other projects as necessary.
The ideal candidate:
Is passionate about sustainable living and tourism;
Is exceptionally organized, with solid project management and communication skills;
Has experience working for a small hospitality business, preferably in a rural or farm setting;
Enjoys interfacing with clients and is able consistently to welcome and manage guests with enthusiasm; and
Is able to develop and implement plans and programming but remains flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances.

On-farm accommodation with access to a farm bicycle in an expansive park for hiking, swimming, exploring, and foraging at your doorstep
