We are a 1st generation regenerative pastured poultry and vegetable farm in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, bringing seasonal produce, organic-fed chickens, Pekin ducks, and top-quality eggs to tables around Atlanta. As a Conservation Fund “Working Farms Fund” farm, we put sustainability at the forefront using practices like no-till and daily pasture rotation on our 81 acres of Southwest Metro ATL rural farmland. Owner Michael Gault is a former backyard gardener who put his passion for land regeneration, food sovereignty, and strong local food systems into a UGA horticulture degree with an emphasis in sustainable food production – and now puts that passion to work every day on Smyly Farms.
Job description
Daily farm work includes feeding, watering and rotating/moving animals to fresh pasture, rain or shine, must be on time!
Some routine tasks:
Loading 10-15 25lb feed buckets to feed and water 5 different flocks of poultry.
Collecting eggs from chickens and ducks.
Moving electric netting and mobile chicken coops.
Washing and packaging eggs and creating inventory lists of meat freezers for weekend markets.
Vegetable and fruit production work: weeding, planting, watering, fertilizing, cultivating, harvesting, etc.
Consistent record-keeping and documentation of chores.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
