We’re a shop in a small but growing community looking for an experienced Cook/Assistant Kitchen Manager who will be responsible for preparing and executing recipes according to expectations of high quality and peak efficiency.

Daily Responsibilities:

 • Cooks hot food to order in a timely, detail-oriented manner, per existing recipes

 • Prepares sufficient mise for service

 • Places fulfillment orders for necessary items to execute recipes as defined

 • Assists other departments with prep and maintenance work, as needed

 • Ensures staff is familiar with new and existing products

 • Organizes and maintains a clean, safe walk-in and kitchen

 • Maintains the highest level of food safety and sanitation 

Requirements:

 • Experience working as a cook, especially in a busy take-out/lunchenette setting; culinary school experience a plus

 • Ability to work cleanly and efficiently, producing minimal waste.

 • HIGHLY meticulous, punctual and detail-oriented

 • A positive attitude and an enthusiastic desire to do excellent work in all areas of the shop

 • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and spend 8+ hours standing

 • Ability to work in a fast pace, erratic environment

 • A diligent approach to safety and sanitation. Food safety certification required

 • A team player with a willingness to jump in and help with all tasks.

 • A self-starter and hard worker who looks to work smart.

 • Desire to help take this successful Mom & Pop operation to the next level.

This is a salaried position with bonuses based on business performance and growth.

Compensation

this position is: salaried, varies DOE, $45,000.00 - $55,000.00
