Summary of Position: 

Rooted is looking for a dynamic and professional Line Cook to join our growing team! This unique role combines exceptional culinary skills with customer interaction, allowing you to prepare high-quality dishes while contributing to an outstanding guest experience. As a line cook at Rooted, you will have the opportunity to work on an innovative & creative team that works in a fast-paced environment to deliver above all delicious meals to our customers. The ideal candidate will help uphold our commitment to ingredient transparency, simplicity, and meeting restaurant goals with a positive and professional attitude. 

Key Responsibilities 

Culinary Excellence 

  • Prepare and serve dishes consistently, adhering to Rooted's standardized recipes, portion sizes, and cooking standards in a timely manner. 
  • Execute food preparation and cooking on the line for service with precision and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ensure all food items leaving your station meet Rooted's high-quality standards.
  • Maintain & display a full knowledge of Rooted's cooking methods, portioning guidelines, and kitchen rules in order to embrace Rooted’s core mission of transparency & trust.

Operational Support 

  • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of ingredients and prepared items at your station to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Keep all work areas, including counters, grills, fryers, ovens, and refrigeration units, clean and sanitized.
  • Safely and efficiently operate all kitchen equipment in accordance with training and safety standards.
  • Follow opening & closing procedures and checklists to ensure the kitchen is always set up for success 

Customer Interaction 

  • Engage with customers in a friendly, approachable, and professional manner while upholding Rooted’s brand values.
  • Have the ability to multitask & engage with customers while preparing menu items when necessary
  • Assist guests with questions or special dietary needs to ensure a positive dining experience.

Team Collaboration 

  • Attend scheduled team meetings and actively contribute ideas for improvement, efficiency, or innovation.
  • Work collaboratively with teammates to maintain a harmonious and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Stay focused, organized, and adaptable during high-pressure situations or busy shifts.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed and other duties as assigned to support team objectives and operational success.

Health & Safety Compliance 

  • Adhere to all health codes, food safety standards, and Rooted’s house policies to ensure the safety and satisfaction of our customers.
  • Follow cleaning and maintenance protocols to keep equipment in excellent working condition.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Rooted allergy & cross-contamination protocols and policies.  

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
