Stocked by Three Owls, a local NYC-based meal delivery start-up, is looking for someone with deep knowledge of recipe development and high volume food production to lead R&D for the business. The R&D Associate will work with the business owners to develop recipes that align with customers expectations and preferences, create production specs, and assist in training on dishes. 


This is a part time role and will report to the CEO and work closely with the COO and Culinary Operations Manager. As R&D Associate at Stocked you will have the opportunity to be creative and collaborative in a fast paced and quickly growing business.

Culinary Research and Development Associate


Stocked by Three Owls, a local NYC-based meal delivery start-up, is looking for someone with deep knowledge of recipe development and high volume food production to lead R&D for the business. The R&D Associate will work with the business owners to develop recipes that align with customers expectations and preferences, create production specs, and assist in training on dishes.

Responsibilities 

  • Generate recipe pitches to share with team
    Meet weekly to review pitches and settle on concepts to test
  • Draft recipes with customer and business needs in mind and submit for review 
  • Incorporate feedback into drafts
  • Cook and test recipes considering
    • taste and presentation 
    • Ability to hold in the fridge for 5 days 
    • Cost 
    • Kitchen execution
  • Present dishes to leadership team
  • Modify as needed
  • Assist with training the team on recipes with the support of Culinary Production Manager 

Skills

  • 1-2 years working in recipe development 
  • Experience working in a production kitchen is a plus

Attributes

  • Organized with strong ability to communicate culinary techniques through written recipes 
  • Ability to review customer information and tailor menus to their needs 
  • Collaborative and cooperative 
  • Receptive to feedback 
  • Excellent taste profile 

Schedule and Compensation

  • 3 days per week 
  • Compensation commensurate with experience 

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
