Job description

As a high tunnel builder, you'll be travelling throughout the Great Lakes and Midwest regions, and sometimes even further, to work alongside farmers building hoophouses ranging in size from 16'x16' to 30'x192'.

Most of these projects are completed in one day.  You'll need to have the smarts to learn the system, the strength to keep on working through any weather, the charisma to inspire a group of volunteers to work alongside you, and the willingness to travel 2 out of every 3 weeks.  During your home weeks, you'll pitch in on the manufacturing end of the operation, making the parts and assemblies we use in the field.

It's wonderful work, making such an enormous difference on these farms and for these people every day.  We see the world, meet the finest people, have each other's backs, and are building the local food infrastructure of the new farming economy.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $23.00 - $35.00
