Job description

As Sales Manager, you will be instrumental in expanding Rosy Soil’s presence across new and existing retailers in the US. You’ll be calling on independent garden centers and nurseries who are the lifeblood of our business. Your mission is to grow our retail footprint, bringing sustainable options to gardeners everywhere, while expanding partnerships with our existing retailers.

We’re looking for an organized and empathetic sales professional with a knack for building and nurturing relationships with small business owners. You will work to deeply understand our customers, retail partners, and larger community to continuously improve our products and strategy. Reports to: Founder & CEO

Location: Remote, within San Francisco Bay Area

Travel: ~2-3 days a month

Responsibilities

  • Establish and surpass monthly sales and distribution targets.
    Increase sales at new and existing accounts through exceptional relationship building and innovative sales strategies.
  • Gather feedback for product improvement and promote brand awareness through active customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with R&D to align product strategy with customer insights.
  • Analyze and report on sales data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Enhance sales processes and assets to build high-quality retailer relationships.
  • Conduct weekly in-person and virtual events, trainings with key accounts, and monthly market visits; manage our busy schedule of trade shows throughout the year.

Qualifications

  • Deeply passionate about Rosy Soil’s mission to improve soil, plant, and planet health.
  • Proven sales experience in high-growth CPG or lawn & garden brands.
  • Customer-centric with a strong understanding of consumer behavior.
  • Enthusiastic about working in an early-stage company and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable being a disruptor in an old-school category: enjoy the challenge of introducing unfamiliar products, breaking industry norms, and positioning Rosy Soil as a necessary, premium addition in a commodity-driven category.
  • Skilled in prospecting, closing, managing, and upselling accounts.
  • Strong organizational and CRM skills; experience with Hubspot, Google Suite, Slack, and Asana.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, interpersonal, written/oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excited to work collaboratively with other sales team members to develop strategies, share insights, and coordinate efforts to achieve and surpass team sales goals.
  • Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.
