Job description

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician will oversee all aspects of maintenance and upkeep of the infrastructure of the farm. Our ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of general maintenance procedures, basic hand and power tools, and appliances.  The Maintenance Technician reports to the Facilities Manager.

Job Duties:

  • Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment
  • Performing preventative maintenance of premises and equipment
  • Performing repairs and maintenance of premises and equipment
  • Support mechanic with vehicle maintenance with vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Contacting and overseeing contractors when outside vendors are necessary
  • Diagnosing maintenance issues and correcting them
  • Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Conduct performance assessments of company appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, ovens, and coffee makers
  • Heavy lifting and moving of farm equipment and supplies, as well as various office and resident furnishings and supplies
  • Support the farm's needs outside of all core responsibilities, including, but not limited to, irrigation work, supporting the needs of the orchards. building structures, installing, and repairing fencing and addressing reasonable requests by Farm Management
  • Running for supplies and tools
  • Other tasks as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years working in a similar role
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record, required for insurance purposes
  • Understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
  • Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists., saws, drills, and wrenches
  • Ability to work outside for extended periods of time
    Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis

Qualifications

  • Team player; professional and positive attitude
  • Well-organized and able to prioritize tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and detail-orientated
  • Effective problem-solving abilities 
    Follow safety procedures

Schedule

  • Mondays – Fridays; 7:30am – 4:00pm

Compensation and Benefits

  • $26-$28.00 / hour
