Job description

Cooking School  ASSISTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION We are looking for someone to join our team  who is energetic, passionate and able to talk to guests in a way that helps them understand our recipes/techniques. Must be able to work well with others. Ability to work most weekends - Friday and Saturday is a must (please don't apply otherwise). Really pleasant and most beautiful work environment with a team that is amazing.

Responsible for ingredient ordering - recipe prep - assisting chefs and helping customers during cooking classes - cleanup also required.  Daytime food organizing - light phone work. Friday and Saturday evenings. Some weekend daytime classes also required. No experience necessary. Must love people and food and be comfortable in a group setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
- Collect ingredients for weekly classes from restaurant storage.
- Some clerical responsibilities
- Review the market order to ensure all the ingredients and equipment are in place. 
- Set up room with the proper -- equipment (cutting boards, knives, kitchen tools and equipment) needed for the class. And ensure that all are clean and functional. 
- Prep or mise en place (wash, measure etc) ingredients as needed. 
- During class, assist Chef /Culinary Instructor and guests with the food items and equipment 
- Clean, remove dirty dishes as the class progresses .  Some dish washing involved. Return clean dishes, tools and equipment to the designated storage areas in the classroom / kitchen.
- Breakdown and clean kitchen areas ensuring all equipment (pots, pans, dishes, silverware and glasses) are properly cleaned and stored.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Culinary Director or Chef Instructor. 
 Will Train.  Must love people and food and be comfortable in a group setting.
