Six River Farm is an organic vegetable farm located in Bowdoinham, Maine. We are a four season farm, producing a wide-range of organic produce for local farmers markets, restaurants and grocery stores.

The High Tunnel Crop Manager position is a year-round position that involves the management of production and harvest for a range of crops grown within high tunnels at Six River Farm.  Six River Farm currently grows in approximately .5 acres of 4-season high tunnel structures and an additional .5 acres of 3-season high tunnel structure.  Crops grown in these tunnels primarily include various leafy greens crops in the winter and spring and tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplants and basil in the spring, summer and fall.   The position entails a range of work and management responsibilities associated with production and harvesting as outlined below.  The High Tunnel Crop Manager is also in charge of managing the daily work of the Assistant High Tunnel Crop Manager and other farm crew members assigned to work with greenhouse crops on a daily basis.  Finally, the High Tunnel Crop Manager is tasked with coordinating and assisting with a range of high tunnel structure maintenance and assembly tasks.
 

Position Details:
-Required experience: at least two full seasons of experience on comparable vegetable farms; specific experience and knowledge of high-tunnel production of solanaceous, cucurbit and leafy greens crops.

-Compensation: $20-22/hr (based on experience); 5 vacation days; accrued PTO; weekly farm stand credit
-Hours: Apr-Dec: 5 days a week 6:45am-4pm (5:45AM-3pm July/Aug); Jan-Mar: 4 days a week 7:45-4pm;
