Patellie’s is a small pizzeria in the heart of Michigan’s Harbor Country. Our focus is to provide customers with high-quality, consistent, and delicious products every single time. We do this by creating a warm and inviting environment, giving friendly and attentive customer service, working with quality ingredients from local farmers who raise meat and produce sustainably, and also sourcing specialty items from around the World. We specialize in making hand-stretched pizza, sausages, meatballs, and other pizzeria staples. We are a small crew in a high-volume kitchen.
Job description
We are looking for someone who can hustle and handle a busy environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality in a calm and collected manner.
The priority of this job is customer service, whether in person or over the phone. Tasks will include but not be limited to scheduling the staff, training, setting up and breaking down the customer areas of the business, side work, dishes, cleaning projects, and helping out with other kitchen prep projects. Everyone on the team will help out in each department when needed but will have an area of personal responsibility.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following –
· Computer literacy and basic math skills
· Be reliable - be on time and have a reliable means of transportation
· Scheduling and organizing the staff
· Setting up the restaurant for service and closing the restaurant for the evening
· Recording and Monitoring Staff Tabs and ensuring the honest and appropriate use of discounts
· Executing service in an efficient and clean manner while maintaining communication between FOH and BOH
· Be expected to maintain a general knowledge of the products we make and utilize in the Pizzeria. The employee will periodically be tested on this knowledge.
· Make cleanliness and food safety a top priority. Food Safety Certification for working in and managing others in a food establishment. (if not certified already, will arrange certification at the time of hiring). Following safe and proper food handling and stock rotation guidelines
· Possessing the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a professional demeanor.
· Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
· Demonstrate the ability to work in a team-driven environment. We are a respectful and positive environment.
· Train new employees
· Able to work independently, focused, self-driven and detail oriented.
· Open to feedback with the understanding that the whole team is working towards the same goal.
· Keep a positive and professional attitude with customers, co-workers, and vendors.
· Be able to handle the physical work of being on your feet, walking, talking and cleaning, occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs. Reach, bend and stoop frequently.
HOURS –
We work as a team 5 days a week Thursday through Mondays starting in the afternoon going into the evening. Flexibility is available with advanced communication, but the average week is a set schedule. Weekends and holidays are a must; days leading up to Labor Day, 4th of July and Memorial Day are required.
COMPENSATION –
We are committed to promoting pay equity. The pay rate is determined based on each individual's experience and qualifications. Experience and performance-based reviews can lead to increased compensation. Health benefits, including dental and vision, are offered after 90 days of employment. Also, there is an option to contribute to a SIMPLE IRA with an Employer match of up to 3% of compensation.
