ORGANIZATION
At Wholesome Wave Georgia, we believe all Georgians will have access to fresh, healthy, locally grown food choices. Founded in 2009, Wholesome Wave Georgia makes fresh, healthy, locally-grown produce affordable and available to all Georgians. We steward a network of farmers, neighbors, and community partners who believe affordable access to fresh, healthy, locally-grown food creates a more inclusive, nourishing, and loving food system in which everyone prospers.
Wholesome Wave Georgia was launched as a statewide chapter of Wholesome Wave, the national organization, to double Federal Nutrition Assistance, such as SNAP and WIC benefits, at Georgia’s farmers markets. Since Wholesome Wave Georgia’s founding, Wholesome Wave Georgia provided over $3.1 million in healthy food to Georgia’s families and revenue to Georgia’s small, independent farmers through our Fresh For Less program and our Food For Health program.
Our Georgia SNAP Connection Program provides SNAP enrollment assistance and outreach to our neighbors in need of food assistance. The program provides outreach and assistance as a Community Partner of the Georgia Department of Children & Family Services. To learn more, please visit www.wholesomewavegeorgia.org.
