Company description

We are a diversified, family-run farm located in West Corinth, Vermont. We raise a wide variety of vegetables using intensive, market-gardening techniques. We also raise pastured lamb, pork, beef and poultry- including broilers, turkeys and a large flock of laying hens. Our highest priority as farmers is stewardship of the land we are fortunate enough to call our farm and our home. We carefully choose our farming practices accordingly - ensuring the health of our vegetable fields through low-till, intensive production methods and cover cropping and managing our pastured animals using intensive, rotational grazing methods. We are not certified organic but adhere to sustainable and organic practices because we believe that they are the best way to ensure the health of our animals, soil and water Our Cookeville Market - located just three miles from the farm right next door to the Corinth Post Office - is a great place to stock up on our produce and meats as well as grocery staples and seasonal items from over thirty local artisans and producers. On Saturday evenings in the summer we offer pizza and live music on the farm. 

Job description

Crossmolina Farm is looking for a Veggie Manager for the 2025 Season. Working closely with the farm owners, this position plays the lead role in vegetable production on our highly diversified farm. 

We are looking for someone who is excited  to work closely with our team. The farm is a dynamic place with many, many moving parts and days can be fast paced. We need folks who are excited by the opportunity to  pull together with our close knit team towards the success of the farm as a whole and a common goal of connecting our community to the land, their food and each other one meal at a time. 

This position is full time for the growing season - from early April through November with the option of full or part time hours in the winter months.

Duties include:

Seeding and plant management in our propagation house
Seeding and transplanting in the field 
Management of  seeding/transplanting and harvest record keeping 
Planning, implementing and supervising weekly transplanting, weeding and maintenance task lists
Planning and Supervising bi-weekly harvest and pack out  for the farm store, farmer’s market and wholesale accounts.
Management of a 1-4 member field crew (depending on the time of year). 

Requirements:

Ability to lift 50+ pounds consistently.
Comfortable working in both warm and cold environments for extended periods of time. 
At least two seasons of prior vegetable growing experience
Ability to supervise others
Ability to work individually and with a team. 

Compensation:
Commensurate with Experience
