Canyon Grove is a K-8 charter school with a mission to educate students in a unique farm meets suburban school setting.  Students often have class in the courtyard between our hoop house and our geothermal greenhouse.  In Farm Class students help harvest for our weekly CSA boxes.  They help cut flowers and make bouquets for our market stand. 

We prioritize learning over everything but make no mistake, we do have production goals and we are constantly using our food and the farm lifestyle to build a community of healthy families right here in the beautiful Wasatch Front and beyond.

 

Job description

We create farm lessons and conduct small group instruction daily.  We seed, harvest and everything in between at our 1.5 acre farm plot right under Mt. Timpanogos.  We adhere to a no-till, low spray ethic while meeting production goals for our small CSA and our local shop partners.  All the while we are looking for ways to engage the kids and help create both the next generation of land stewards and healthy plot of soil for them to work.  We also have animals, a compost operation, vermiculture, a cut-flower operation, bees, a small orchard, a big livestock protection dog and a friendly and loving community.  We are looking for someone with experience in production growing and small farm operation.  Candidates with experience any of the listed fields will be given special consideration.  Pay will increase based on skills and work performance.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
