Our menu is an innovative and unapologetic fusion of Caribbean and American dishes. We started in 2015 with a bright red food truck and the vision that good food should be accessible in every neighborhood. Since then we've been cooking with high culinary standards.

From Scratch Cooking – We make our sauces in-house starting with whole vegetables, spices and a blender. The result is fresh, preservative-free ingredients in all our dishes.

Job description

Job Title: Front of House Staff Member / Cafe Attendant

Location: Fresh Food Generation, Dorchester, MA

Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time (must be willing to work 2 Saturdays a month)

 

Job Summary:

We are looking for an energetic and personable individual, passionate about food, beverages and customer service, who will be hands on creating a positive guest experience and work environment. The ideal candidate finds joy in engaging with their customers and creating pleasant experiences for them. The candidate will ensure the space is always clean and presentable for the customers, craft and pour beverages and smoothies, and deliver the guest’s food at their tables.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Beverage Preparation: Create high-quality coffee drinks, smoothies, and other specialty beverages according to customer preferences and café standards.
• Food Running: Deliver customer’s food to their table and/or hand out take-out orders.
• Customer Service: Greet customers with a friendly attitude, take orders, and provide product recommendations as needed.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure all workstations, equipment, and customer areas are clean and sanitized regularly.
• Cash Handling: Process payments accurately through POS systems, handle cash, and balance the cash drawer at the end of shifts.
• Inventory & Stocking: Assist with stocking ingredients and supplies, ensuring that the café is fully prepared for daily operations.
• Menu Knowledge: Stay knowledgeable about café offerings, ingredients, and dietary options (e.g., vegan, gluten-free).
• Health & Safety: Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling and hygiene standards.
• Team Collaboration: Work with team members to ensure smooth café operations, assist during busy periods, and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.

 

Qualifications:

• Food Service experience: 1-3 years.
• Prior experience as a bartender/barista or in a similar role (preferred but not required).
• Food Safety Certification or the ability to become certified
• Knowledge of juice and smoothie preparation (preferred but not required).
• Very Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to take on work independently, as well as collaboratively.
• Basic math skills for handling cash and processing transactions.
  Availability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and handle hot beverages safely.
• Manual dexterity for operating café equipment and preparing drinks.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $17.00 - $22.00
