Company description

Roxbury Farm CSA is a 930 member CSA farm delivering vegetables & meat to communities in the Hudson Valley of NY.   We farm on 350 acres and grow 25 acres of a variety of vegetables and an another 20 to 30 acres of cover crops each season.  This crop rotation helps us to build soil health and disrupt the weed & disease cycles.   

We have a herd of Black Angus/White Park/Hereford cattle.  Each season we graze up to 60 head through our pastures.  We grow our own hay, baleage, and straw to provide winter feed and bedding.  We also raise pastured pork in our wooded pasture.  The pigs are fed certified organic grain. 
    
Presently the farm is managed by sister farmers, Jody Bolluyt and Keri Latiolais, along with a great team of talented folks.  Roxbury Farm CSA has helped to train many new farmers over the seasons.  We are excited about sharing our knowledge and learning along side the farm team.    
 

Job description

We are looking for someone to join our farm team.  Farm team members take part in all aspects of the vegetable operation if.  Everything from tractor operation, greenhouse production, planting, irrigation, weeding, to harvesting, washing, & packing vegetables.  The farm position begins in April and goes until mid-December.  Each farm team member creates their own job description depending on their skill set, interests, and what they would like to learn.  

Compensation includes an hourly wage DOE , 5 paid sick days, and 3 paid holiday days.   On-farm housing in your own apartment can be available.  All farm staff have access to the fruit and vegetables we produce and a staff discount on the beef & pork.  

We are looking for someone with:

• 3 to 5 years farming experience
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Enjoys working as a team
• Attention to detail
• Enjoy physical work in all types of weather

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
