Overview

Ark Foods is seeking a R&D Associate to support our world class Research and Development practices , and to help create our next generation of veggie-based products. This role will report to our VP of QA and R&D, and will focus on supporting every aspect of the R&D process, such as product development, process documentation, regulatory assistance, project management, communicating with team members and customers.


Our company has multiple facilities. We are ideally seeking a candidate based out of the New York, NY area.


Key work streams will include:

Assist in product development process, including competition shopping, record keeping, and conducting taste testings
Recreate product recipes to validate formulas
Communicate with suppliers
Assist in NFP development
Create spec sheets for new product offerings
Help manage product specifications database
Manage certain end customer communications, and troubleshoot complaints
Support R&D efforts through project management and organization
Assist R&D with product prototyping and sampling
Help conduct shelf life studies

In your favor:

Background in food production, restaurant operations, or food science
Exceptional organizational and communication skills
Comfort with fast-paced work environment, incredible self-motivation
Background or understanding of basic principles of quality assurance/control in food productionUnderstanding of basic principles of food safety such as HACCP and Preventative Controls
Basic familiarity with FDA nutrition regulations as they relate to labeling
