Job description

The Vermont Foodbank seeks a self-motivated, energetic Director for the Marketing and Communications team. This full time/salaried position reports to the Chief Philanthropy Officer. The position requires that a candidate has personal transportation and is able to conduct travel state-wide to meet with donors, community partners, and Vermont Foodbank staff. It is a full time, hybrid position based out of one of our three Vermont Foodbank offices (individual will be required to attend in-person meetings in Barre and Rutland). 

The primary components of this position include providing leadership and strategic direction for the team responsible for the organization’s annual fund, marketing, and communications work, aimed at inspiring community to take action to eliminate hunger in Vermont while enhancing awareness of and access to Vermont Foodbank programs, resources and engagement opportunities. The Director supervises three positions: Senior Manager – Annual Giving; Senior Manager – Marketing, Website and Design; and the Marketing and Communications Coordinator.  

The Director ensures annual fundraising, marketing and communications objectives meet the organization’s financial and programmatic vision and annual goals. The Director leads a collaborative approach to developing and supporting the execution of comprehensive plans aligned with the organization’s operational needs and strategic direction. In addition, they lead on and are an active contributor to special projects, content development and campaigns. They are responsible for budgeting, staff development and resourcing, and fostering an inclusive and collaborative team environment. This is a salaried position with the pay range for this level: $84,048 - $126,072.00 annually; hiring at the low end of the range for this position.
