Global Growers Network (GGN) is a nonprofit based in Decatur, GA that partners with people from diverse cultures to grow fresh food for their families and for local marketplaces. We work with 200 growers representing over 20 cultures and languages. We operate a network of community gardens in Decatur and Clarkston, a market farm located at the Indian Creek MARTA station in Stone Mountain, and a 23-acre organic co-farm in Conyers.

Position Summary and Candidate Vision
The Development Associate keeps the organization’s fundraising activities, donor relations, and events running smoothly. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, tech savvy communicator who finds satisfaction in deepening connections between donors and the organization’s network of incredibly diverse farmers, growers and food systems leaders.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Director in planning, launching and fully implementing individual donor campaigns
- Coordinate digital fundraising efforts including e-appeals, social media posts, and other online giving platforms
- Ensure consistent, current, and accurate donor data is maintained in our donor tracking software and provide regular donor reports
- Process gifts and timely gift acknowledgment letters to donors, sponsors, and grantors.
- Ensure an effective engagement experience for each donor and prospect, scheduling meetings, email follow-up, personal thank you calls, disseminating programmatic updates, and tracking the progress of the donor experience
- Work with the event consultant team to serve as the organizational liaison for our annual signature event (A Meaningful Feast) and additional development related events. This includes supporting relationships with donors and sponsors, compiling sponsor logos, drafting communications and coordinating graphic design and social media activities as needed
- Other related responsibilities as needed
Requirements
- 2 years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications and administration, preferably in the context of local food systems and/or equity and social justice work
- Experience maintaining donor accounts, using donor software and organizing reports
- Experience using Bloomerang or similar donor CRM is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Demonstrated event management experience is highly desirable
- A high level of proficiency using Google Workspace / Microsoft Office; experience with Canva or similar design software is a plus
- Highly organized and detail-oriented; punctual and able to meet deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks, in a collaborative and multi-cultural environment
- Access to reliable transportation for travel between GGN sites and to offsite meetings
- Fluency in at least one additional language is a plus
Location and Schedule
This is a full time, non-exempt position requiring forty hours per week, with standard working hours, Monday - Friday, along with occasional pre-scheduled evening and weekend work. This position will primarily work from our office at Legacy Park in Decatur. The position will require at least 3 days/week at our office in Legacy Park. Remote/virtual work is possible outside of necessary in-office responsibilities.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Benefits include: Healthcare Reimbursement Account ($370/month), cell phone stipend ($25/month), SIMPLE IRA retirement account (3% match), paid time off (starts at 14 days/year), paid holidays (6 public
holidays; 2 floating holidays; 2 weeks at year-end), and professional development budget ($1,000/year).
