What We’re Looking For:

FoodCorps seeks a motivated and passionate individual to lead, coach, and support a cohort of 10-14 FoodCorps members. The Student Impact Lead will play a vital role in the delivery of high-quality programming to students by providing training and ongoing individual coaching to FoodCorps members. They will build collaborative and resilient relationships with school staff, teachers, and administrators to ensure members are set up for success. They have taught, coached, or otherwise worked with children, and can bring that lens to their work with adult learners. They will have experience leading teams and be excited to support a cohort of non-traditional educators to create impactful learning experiences for all of their students. 

This full-time position will have the ability to be remote within proximity to the FoodCorps member cohort that it manages which are currently Washington DC and Maryland. Both statewide and national travel will be required, up to 30%.

Job description

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a cohort of 10-14 FoodCorps members to effectively implement programming that advances student outcomes of belonging, mastery, and agency
  • Plan and deliver high-quality cohort training to equip FoodCorps members with the knowledge and skills to deliver highest-impact programming to students and school nutrition partners
  • Remain up to date on current teaching best practices and school support trends by attending in-person and virtual trainings around instructional coaching, observation tools, feedback, and accountability.
  • Provide ongoing coaching in-person and virtually to FoodCorps members based on their strengths and opportunities for growth in order to ensure high quality programming and cultivate leadership skills during and after service
  • Plan and conduct regular school and nutrition department site visits to observe, provide feedback, and assess the quality of FoodCorps program implementation 
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with principals, school advisors, and school-based staff to ensure consistent member support and coaching, and to align programming with academic goals and priorities 
  • Ensure accurate member and school-level reporting, information management and data collection to support outreach and evaluation initiatives
  • Elevate FoodCorps member needs and challenges to other program staff and HR as needed.
  • Contribute to collective learning and continuous improvement by sharing effective practices across the cohort of other Student Impact Leads.
Measures of Success:

By the end of year 1, the Student Impact Lead will have:

  • Planned and facilitated at minimum two multi-day, in-person cohort trainings as well as twice-monthly service member cohort calls and TRY sessions that strengthen member skills towards effective programming
  • Required and supported members to record their teaching practice regularly, used video observations to drive effective coaching 
  • Provided ongoing coaching to each FoodCorps member both virtually and in-person that resulted in continuous individual growth towards advancing student outcomes of mastery, agency, and belonging, through a minimum of three in-person site visits that include observation, feedback and stamping of clear next steps for growth and support 
  • Supported FoodCorps member retention by providing the necessary resources, coaching and guidance to ensure at least 85% of their cohort successfully complete the term and fulfill the programmatic requirements
  • Cultivated and maintained strong relationships with partner school staff in order to build upon community assets, ensure on-site coaching for members, and effectively support school-specific goals and academic priorities through service
  • Support the development in PY25 and full implementation in PY26 of the school advisor role, including building strong relationships and providing training and support for school advisors on FoodCorps programming, curriculum, and member coaching
  • Elevated stories of FoodCorps member and school-level impact to contribute to FoodCorps’ organizational learning, communications, and advocacy goals
  • Managed towards the accurate and timely submission of all member reporting requirements, including reflection logs, timesheets, evaluative tools, and expense reports

this position is: salaried, 75k-100k
