Job description

As an importer and roaster, Think Coffee believes that it takes more than just paying a fair price to uplift farmworker communities. The most important work is done in the “last mile” beyond where the purchase price is paid.  By establishing real and trusted farming relationships, we ensure not only a healthier supply chain but better quality coffee for our customers.

Think Coffee has been in the cafe business for nearly two decades, and we have been importing green coffee for nearly as long. But selling roasted coffee wholesale is relatively new for us. Because of this, we are looking for someone with a strong entrepreneurial spirit who will take initiative to grow our program to the next level.

The Wholesale Director is responsible for providing strategic direction for the wholesale program, including sales to hospitality, food service, office and grocery (“Wholesale Program”), and is responsible for its overall growth and success. The Wholesale Director will manage the wholesale business from lead generation and prospect development through onboarding new accounts and account management.  The position requires strong leadership, vision, communication skills, relationship building, and the ability to drive new business across the food and beverage industry.  Significant experience in the coffee industry is strongly preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall profitable growth and development of the Wholesale Program;
  • Conduct sales prospecting activities to identify and qualify new business opportunities within the hospitality industry;
  • Establish a strong inbound pipeline strategy to generate sustainable revenue growth through both in-bound and out-bound sales strategies.
  • Identify and manage profitable distributor relationships;
  • Work directly with Think Coffee ownership to establish and implement a sales strategy and budget for the Wholesale Program;
  • Collaborate with our marketing, roasting and green coffee teams to present a cohesive, compelling vision for prospective clients;
  • In collaboration with senior leadership, develop marketing strategies to clarify and refine the Think brand within the coffee wholesale market.
  • Educate prospective accounts on our coffee and what sets us apart from other roasters.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and delivering exceptional service including timely order processing and technical support.
  • Identify opportunities for expanding and enhancing customer accounts.
  • Ensure excellent customer service for all wholesale customers.
  • Provide regular pipeline and sales forecasting reports to Think Coffee ownership;
  • Report no less than monthly on actual sales vs. target performance.
  • Provide consultation for new wholesale/foodservice customers, including recommendations for appropriate beverage equipment and menu with confidence and expertise;
  • Lead with a positive attitude and support the overall company sales strategy;
