Job description

Allandale Farm is a vegetable farm, plant nursery, and market
on the border of Jamaica Plain and Brookline. We also offer
community and private events on the farm. We are looking for a
hardworking, friendly person with a good eye for both detail and
big picture to be our Day-of-Event Coordinator from late August
through October. This role is great for an upbeat person who is
energized by busy environments and has previous event
experience. 15-25 hours per week, Friday-Sunday.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring a great celebration on the farm through professional and attentive client interactions
  • Day-of-event delivery including: set up and break down, organizing materials, and running and supervising all aspects of the scheduled party (e.g. weddings, birthdays, company picnics, dinners, etc.)
  • Clearly and professionally communicating with clients, vendors, event staff, and guests
  • Moving and arranging furniture (8’ tables, folding chairs, Adirondack chairs, etc.)
  • Transporting clients and their guests as needed in a golf cart and/or pickup truck
  • Reports to Event Manager

Qualifications:
  • Previous event experience, ideally in an organizing/oversight capacity
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to “think on your feet”, providing thoughtful solutions for last-minute/surprise challenges
  • Able to comfortably lift 40 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Commitment to workplace equity and inclusion measures
  • Adherence to environmentally sustainable workplace practices
  • COVID-19 vaccinations and booster required for employment
  • Weekends and evenings required; note that event days can range up to 14 hours

Compensation:
  • $30-$32 per hour, commensurate with experience
  • Benefits including earned sick time, sustainable transportation, and Allandale produce benefits
