Genuine Foods is looking for a motivated and organized Procurement Specialist. This individual will be a key team member ensuring that we purchase the highest-quality and best-value products across all markets. The right candidate will be a highly effective communicator with suppliers and internal stakeholders, possess attention to details, and have the ability to drive cross functional projects across our organization. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads the project management for cross-functional collaboration with the procurement, operations, and culinary teams - to develop strategic plans for sourcing products based on company goals and needs.
- Works closely with distributors in all markets to set up new accounts and monitors and tracks distributor performance and any programs or specific contract terms.
- Monitors supplier price fluctuation improvement plans for all accounts and reports product quality and delivery issues, pursuing credits when necessary.
- Works closely with the operations to help liaise with vendors and help troubleshoot any delivery or customer service issues.
- Creates and helps manage standardized order guides in each market based on approved menu recipes.
- Works closely with the nutritional department to ensure all food products comply with school food standards, where applicable.
- Collaborates with the procurement department to establish private label products for most used items.
- Proactively researches and helps establish new local and diverse supplier relationships, driving continuous increases in spending in those categories.
- Collaborates with the operations and marketing teams to produce customer-facing materials spotlighting preferred suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in school food and/or a food service environment.
- 2+ years of experience negotiating contract terms and conditions and managing on-time deliveries.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Intermediate data analysis skills and comfortable with Excel.
- Experience crafting standard operating procedures (SOPs) and creating and implementing plans to roll out those SOPs
- Ability to work within budget constraints.
- Ability to influence suppliers and cost reductions.
