Taste The HuffPost Food and HuffPost Taste editorial teams are seeking a hard working, dedicated Assistant Editor. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and desire to pursue a career in online journalism. 

Responsibilities

 

• Handle all blog posts for the Food and Taste teams
• Assist with writeups of daily food news and food trend stories
• Assist with the building of slideshows on a daily basis  
• Content production and cross promotional linking 

      
• Daily monitoring of news, blogs, and web trends
• Data collection and helping to maintain the recipe database

• Optimizing posts for SEO

• Assist with photo shoots and taste tests
• General administrative duties

Qualifications

• Must have a strong understanding of food as a subject matter
• Must have a solid grasp of the food news cycle and food sites
• Must be an extremely strong writer and copy editor
• Thrives in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
• Must be web savvy and an active consumer of online media
• Efficient, self-motivated and detail oriented
• Basic understanding of SEO, html and social media platforms
• 1+ years of experience in online journalism preferred
