Company description
Fruitstitute is a tight knit tree-loving outfit that blends arborist and orcharding practices to care for residential clients' fruit trees in the backyards of Los Angeles. As strong believers in the power of both soil and trees, we take a wholistic approach to fruit tree care. We hand make our own compost, compost tea, and mulch to feed every tree we see, and only use treatments we'd be comfortable taking a bath in. Yeah, we're those kinda people.
No matter the fruit tree, we prune, feed, and plant! We have a simple purpose in life, and that's to make sure no one in LA ever has to buy lemons.
Job description
WHO WE ARE
Fruitstitute is the only fruit tree service in Los Angeles. We’re a small group of dedicated, trained fruit tree nerds who believe Los Angeles has the potential to blossom into a fruit paradise. We are passionate about creating a more resilient urban ecology in the backyards of all Angelenos.
We believe fruit can be used as a gateway to connect people to trees and in turn, become better stewards of them. We believe compost will save the world. We believe growing anything starts with growing soil.
WHAT WE DO
Fruitstitute is a Fruit Tree Care and Education Service. We are pioneering a new industry for the residential landscape, grafting the practices of arboriculture and orcharding. We prune trees, plant trees and cultivate healthy soil, providing our clients with seasonal orchard maintenance to grow nutritious, home-grown fruit.
Education and soil regeneration is a core component of what we do. We share our specialized knowledge through consultations, workshops and our service. If you give your fruit trees a little, they’ll give you back a lot. The proof is in the fruit.
OUR MISSION
With our guidance, we can turn Los Angeles into an urban Eden. On every block, and on every corner, people can discover fruit and taste the sweetness. Our goal is to cultivate Angelenos who are verified fruit snobs as we work together to create a resilient, healthy, delicious ecology.
JOB DESCRIPTION
