We are diversified livestock farm focusing on eggs, broilers, pork, and beef.  Our main products are eggs from 1200 pastured hens, which we market from Burlington to New York, and pastured broiler chickens, which we market locally . Our layers and broilers are certified organic, we only feed certified organic feed to our pigs and we rotationally grazing our beef.

Job description

We are looking for someone to join our livestock crew. Basic responsibilities include daily livestock chores, egg washing, and helping with farm building and cleanup projects. In summer it will also include fencing, moving animals, and broiler processing.

We are open to being flexible with hours. Some weekend hours are required. Position is 22-30 hrs/wk, with the possibility of more during the summer. 

This job also has the potential to transition into a management position, with the right candidate taking over day to day management of our layer flock.


   The ideal candidate should:

• Have some previous farming experience
• Be able to work efficiently
• Be comfortable interacting with a variety of farm animals
• Be able to work both solo and in groups
• Be willing to learn, but also be confident to take initiative with tasks
• Good problem solving skills
• Be able to work long hours on your feet, lift 50 lbs
• Have some familiarity with tools

We are willing to train the right candidate regardless of experience. 

Pay is $16/hr.

Compensation

this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
