Job description
At Good Earth, we are known for our 100% Certified Organic Produce Department. We are introducing a new role, and hiring Assistant Produce Managers to help lead our high-volume Produce departments in both stores.
This position requires someone who has a strong knowledge of organic produce, passion around food system issues, and a leadership style that is based on team building, teaching, supporting, and role-modeling. Also required is the ability to understand pricing and margins, participate in buying, oversee buyers, and maintain accurate inventories.
Responsibilities:
- Help lead a team in performance, customer service and product knowledge
- Train and maintain department procedures, skills, and operations
- Ensure all Produce displays are well stocked, properly signed, and attractively built
- Oversight of ordering and product quality
- Fulfillment of Safety Program and cultivating a strong Safety Culture
- Maintain sanitation and presentation standards for the department
- Support personnel development and administration for the department
Qualifications:
Ideal candidate would possess:
- Basic computer skills to place orders, utilize database, and create forms
- Bilingual in both English and Spanish
- Minimum 2 years experience as a buyer in the natural foods industry, with at least 1 year of supervisory or management experience
- Ability to to be on feet all day, lifts to 50 lbs, and to operate all department equipment
- Ability to motive others, and to contribute to creating a positive work environment in your conduct and interaction with coworkers and managers
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +
