Successful livestock farm seeks experienced organic vegetable farmer(s) to launch organic vegetable division. We provide certified organic land, equipment, irrigation, customers, and housing.

Hours/Type: Full-time, salaried, exempt, with benefits
Season: Year-round

Housing: available on-farm (one-bedroom apartment)

Job Description:
Plan, manage and operate all aspects of an organic vegetable CSA farm--personally as much as possible, and by hiring and supervising staff as needed.

• Create financial projections, create budgets, maintain financial records, and produce financial reports
• Perform soil tests, survey farm customers, create production plan, including field & greenhouse planting plan
• Purchase and install infrastructure improvements as needed (high tunnel, irrigation, etc.)
• Purchase seeds, supplies, and equipment
• Prepare fields and greenhouses
• Perform all planting, watering, fertilizing, transplanting, weeding, and other tasks necessary for healthy crop development and pest management.
• Harvest, wash, package, and store all produce using best food safety and quality practices
• Produce weekly newsletter for members
• Manage member relationships, including billing, collecting, member pick-up, complaints, and requests. Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
• 3 years full-time organic vegetable farm operations experience
• Cold chain/ produce quality assurance experience  • Carpentry, plumbing and equipment maintenance experience
• Must be able to operate farm equipment including tractor, front end loader, and farm implements
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds 
• Must be able to crouch, lean, and kneel for extended periods of time 
• This position requires working extended amounts of time within office, field, greenhouse, and farm-stand environments

We currently raise grass-fed beef, pastured pigs, and pastured chickens (broilers and layers) on 120 acres of prime, leased farmland in Litchfield, Hudson, and Londonderry, New Hampshire.
