Job description
- Break down whole animals (beef, pork, lamb, poultry) into case cuts or custom cuts for customers
- Receive and organize incoming whole animal deliveries
- Assist in shop open and closing processes, including cutting for retail cases for opening, and breakdown at closing
- Collaborating with General Manager and Head Butcher, develop new recipes in accordance with shop needs and assist with charcuterie, patés and sausage making
- Provide prompt service to and educate customers about different cuts of meat, including source, texture, flavor, and suggestions for preparation
- Take any non in-person orders (phone, online) and work with Butchers to fulfill these orders
- Collaborating with Butchers, stock and maintain fresh meat and meat product cases throughout the day
- Stock and maintain grocery, frozen, and dry goods
Compensation
this position is : hourly, $15-20/hr
