Job description
Corto is seeking an education ambassador to support our marketing and sales efforts and expand our capacity to educate chefs and restauranteurs about the importance of quality and freshness in olive oil.
We will train the right candidate with our in-house team of olive oil experts, with further opportunities for olive oil sensory assessment certification. Because of the training required, this is a role best for someone looking for a long-term commitment with opportunities to grow.
Job Description:
- Education & Training:
- Support Corto’s marketing and sales efforts through education efforts directed at quality-oriented independent chefs & restauranteurs across the U.S.
- Schedule and lead 1:1 and small group virtual education sessions to awaken participants to the importance of freshness of olive oil
- Collect and share interaction information for internal tracking & reporting
- Outreach & Engagement:
- Identify new candidates for Corto chef education
- Work through established pipelines to collect and manage lists of chef referrals
- Contact potential education candidates to provide information and encourage participation
- Marketing Support:
- Potential to develop unique on-brand education tools that make Corto’s oil tasting/training unique and memorable
- Potential to grow into a supporting role for in-person marketing & education events across the country
- Potential to support broader marketing and social media efforts
Job Qualifications & Requirements:
- 10-20 hours per week, remote, schedule determined by applicant
- Experience in a restaurant or foodservice setting
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, marketing, communication or similar area of study (highly desired, but not required)
- Experience with professional cooking and/or sensory assessment (a plus, but not required)
- Professional demeanor with a positive attitude
- Ability to communicate with people from a wide range of culinary backgrounds
- Ability to work independently with efficient time management and attention to detail
- A passion for the food industry
- General computer skills (Email, Microsoft Office, Google Docs) with access to a PC with the ability to host Zoom meetings
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
