Company description

We’re on a mission to catalyze marketplace innovation, connection, and education across the meat supply chain in order to increase the economic viability and ecological impact of livestock farmers who invest in healthy land, animals, and people.

We envision a future where meat is produced ethically and responsibly, by an industry that invests in healthy animals and landscapes, values people all across the food supply chain, and nourishes diverse, well-informed consumers.

We achieve our mission and vision through education, tool building, knowledge sharing, peer-to-peer learning, and marketplace experimentation and collaboration. We are run by and for farmers and ranchers, butchers and chefs, and anyone interested in or dedicated to finding, buying, cooking and eating meat that aligns with our Good Meat® values.

Job description

The Good Meat Project is seeking someone to manage and execute our programs, primarily our Farmers and Ranchers Marketing Innovation Network program, which aims to support Good Meat farmers and ranchers in successfully bringing their meat to market. The person we’re looking for will enjoy marketing, have professional experience with program management, marketing and/or communications, as well as comprehensive knowledge of the meat supply chain and/or experience in regenerative agriculture. This position requires an individual who is especially detail-oriented and has strong organizational skills. Our selected candidate will be a creative problem solver and clear communicator. Our program manager will be responsible for many different tasks, from programmatic planning to detailed database work to writing, editing, and communications. They will create some new content, as well as plan and facilitate group discussions, educational workshops and events, and occasionally speak publicly about our programming with a variety of stakeholders. They will be self-directed, while also comfortable working virtually and also in close collaboration with our staff.

Good design intuition or actual experience is a plus. Grant writing and fundraising experience is a plus. Experience with food businesses, community education and/or nonprofit program management preferred. Minimal experience or interest in online marketing systems and/or public relations is desired.
