Job description

Fare Trade Coop is in its first year of operation. We are a collection of small artisanal food entrepreneurs committed to improving our food community through sharing resources, experiences and supporting one another.

The Fare Trade Fellowship is a six month program geared towards hands-on experience in the artisanal food community focused in the 5 boroughs. The ideal candidate for this position is an individual looking to transition into the artisanal food community by supporting and experiencing first hand the many facets of owning and maintaining a small craft production business. The program strongly emphasises community building, volunteer work, hands on learning and a dedication to thoughtful and sustainable food production in order to enact positive change in our food world. Be prepared to engage with many different personalities and work environments to gain a well rounded understanding of the artisan food community today. The fellowship is built around kitchen production work, market sales, social media development and administrative tasks relating to small business. For those fellows interested, there will be opportunities to incorporate urban farm and agriculture work to better understand how small scale farming and artisanal food production relate to one another in an urban environment.

A small, monthly stipened will be awarded to each fellowship recipient in exchange for their continued dedication and time in the program. Please visit our website at www.faretradenyc.com to apply. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
