We’re hiring for a part-time (with the opportunity to become full-time) Retail Associate / Cheesemonger at Plum Plums Cheese. This is a unique opportunity in the food service industry to develop your skills and advance your career in the world of cheese.

The role is critical to educating our customers on our cheeses, as well as our specialty meat and food products. 

Specific responsibilities include:

• providing excellent front-of-house customer service 
• supporting the preparation of our delicious prepared foods (mac and cheese, sandwiches, etc).
• cutting and wrapping cheese and meats for customers
• re-stocking retail shelves and keeping the store tidy and organized
• preparing charcuterie platters for customers

We offer competitive pay and good hours (10 a – 6 p) along with the opportunity to grow through education and sponsorship for the American Cheese Society's Certified Cheese Professional exam (CCP) after 1 year. Plus employee discounts!

 

The ideal candidate has experience in the food service industry, in cheese, grocery or restaurant. We can train you, so if you are eager to learn, this is the place for you.

Strong communication skills

Attention to detail

Self-motivated and resourceful

Must be available to work weekends (10 – 6 Saturday and 10 – 4 Sunday)

Food Safety Certification is a plus (but not required)

Compensation

this position is: hourly, varies DOE, $16.00 - $23.00
