Curing and Processing Team Member Babette's Table

Company description Babette's Table is a small, woman owned, family-run meat curing business that sources our pork from local, family farms. We work with our farmers closely and know them well. We make all our products in house in Waitsfield, Vermont, using slow fermentation methods and small batches. We draw on techniques Erika Lynch, Babette's Table's owner, learned when she apprenticed with a master butcher in Gascony, France. Join our production team! Help us to cure, produce, and package our line of cured and smoked meat products. 
 

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Cut meat for whole muscle curing and bacon processing
  • Cure whole muscle and bacon
  • Monitor production to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards in accordance with company policies and government regulations
  • Package finished bacon, sausage, salami, and whole muscle
  • Clean and maintain production spaces and production equipment to ensure smooth and safe operations

Requirements Include:

  • Strong communication skills for teamwork
  • The ability to follow general food safety practices precisely (HACCP system)
  • Basic knowledge of math, weights and measures
  • Capable of lifting 50 + pounds and an ability to work on your feet for 8+ hours

Physical Demands Include:

  •  Frequently lifting or moving items of 50 + pounds
  •  Standing 8 + hours a day
  •  Frequent exposure to 50 degree temperatures for meat processing
  •  Frequent exposure to loud noise while machinery is running (we supply ear protection)

Experience with meat or food processing a plus, but not necessary. Full training will be provided to the right candidate. 

Compensation this position is : hourly, varies DOE, $18.00 - $22.00 Application instructions
