Job description

Location: Remote

Type: Part-time, 20 hours/week

Culture Media is searching for an energetic, creative, and passionate Assistant Digital Editor. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing and editing skills, a knack for engaging social media content, and a love for all things cheese.

In this part-time, remote position, you will be responsible for creating and curating content for our print and digital platforms, as well as managing our social media presence. You'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of cheese, share your passion with our diverse audience, and make a significant impact on our digital footprint.

 

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and publish compelling articles for our print and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with the editorial team to create content that aligns with our brand voice and audience interests.
• Develop, create, and post engaging content on our social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
• Produce original multimedia content, including photography and videography, to enhance our storytelling and audience engagement.
• Foster community engagement by responding to comments and questions on our social media platforms.
• Monitor social media trends and leverage them to increase visibility and engagement.
• Assist with the development of content calendars and editorial strategies.
• Proofread and edit articles to ensure they meet quality standards.

 

Qualifications (We invite you to apply even if you do not check every box on this list)

• Degree in journalism, communications, digital media, or related field.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Experience with photography and videography, including editing software.
• Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Threads) and developing engaging content.
• Basic knowledge of digital analytics platforms and reporting.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work, with a willingness to learn and take ownership.
• Knowledge of cheese is a plus but not required.

 

Experience
This position is ideal for early-career professionals, recent graduates, or those with a strong writing background and a budding interest in digital media. We welcome applicants with limited professional experience but require a proven track record of strong writing ability and multimedia content creation.
