Job description

The Cellars at Jasper Hill and the cheese makers they work with are dedicated to continually improving the quality their cheese.  In order to track and follow through on the quality we have created a thorough tasting and testing schedule and an internship position to keep these schedules on track.  

The main focus of this internship is to assist the Tasting Team through facilitating the tasting schedule. This includes the preparation, participation, clean up and data entry involved in our tastings.  The QA Intern will work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager in executing the tastings. The position will also include some basic technical analysis of the cheese as well as data processing. Assisting marketing with preparation of marketing materials will round out the work. There will also be opportunities to make cheese at the Creamery and with the cheese as it ages in the Vaults.  

The ideal candidate is highly organized, has a developed palate, the capacity to precisely follow directions and be self-motivated.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to delve deeper into their understanding of cheese through working hands on.

Housing is provided for this position at a nearby inn. A vehicle is required.
