Juice Bar Manager

OVERVIEW: Riverwards Produce is a produce-focused market in Philadelphia

 

The Juice Bar Manager position at Riverwards Produce takes ownership of all Juice Bar department operations, staff, and aesthetics.  This role requires creativity and passion for fresh and local produce, a heavy concentration in customer service and creating systems to ensure that cashiers have clear communication about protocol and line management to create the ultimate juice bar experience. The Juice Bar Manager  has an expert knowledge of local/seasonal produce, innovative menu ideas, exceptional people management skills, and POS operations. They’re able to field inquiries and suggestions from both customers and staff. They coordinate frequently with Store Managers, the Grocery and Produce teams to ensure an innovative and exciting menu, proper staffing, product variance, store cleanliness, and aesthetic coherence.

 

The Juice Bar Manager  ensures that we are presenting a cohesive aesthetic upon entry and providing top-notch service and product knowledge for our customers. 

 

Reports to: Produce Department Manager

Directly manages: Juice Bar Cashiers, Produce Team Members that support Juice Bar

 

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Produce Buyer and Department manager to offer exciting, seasonal and creative offerings at the juice bar
• Responsible for overall fiscal performance of department
• Maintains up-to-date procedural logs and implements new process changes
• Creates and conducts training for Juice Bar Staff
• Participates in personnel decisions relating to Juice Bar operations including hiring, scheduling, and discipline
• Serves as a primary contact for POS technical escalations at Juice Bar
• Creates and maintains scheduling for Juice Bar staff
• Provides excellent customer service and has a working knowledge of all store product
• Ensures the completion of all opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures 
• Maintains organized and clear and efficient check out experience 
• Collaborates with Store Managers to create and maintain processes pertaining to money handling by staff
• Collaborates with other department managers to plan seasonal and rotating merchandising plans

 

Requirements 

• Minimum 3 years food based retail and/or managing
• Previous management experience in a grocery setting
• Experience receiving, processing, and merchandising grocery in a retail setting 
• Passion for the principles of sustainable food and farming
• A diligent approach to safety and sanitation - ServSafe (or analogous) certification a plus
• A team player with a willingness to jump in and help with all store tasks
• Ability to roll with the punches of a rapidly growing start-up business 

 

COMPENSATION: This position is full-time. This position is hourly and compensation is dependent upon experience.  Riverwards Produce provides a generous employee discount on all store products, paid parental leave, opportunities for career growth, and flexible scheduling.
