Fishkill Farms is a 270 acre fruit and vegetable farm in East Fishkill, NY. Our homegrown organic and eco-friendly produce is marketed through our year-round Farm Store and Pick-Your-Own operation and our 400-member CSA, among other outlets. Starting with peas and strawberries and culminating with apples and pumpkins in the Fall, the farm provides family friendly outdoor-fun for the local community. At our peak we host thousands of visitors to the farm daily.
Job description
The CSA Coordinator is a key farm ambassador who creates a welcoming and informative environment for the approximately 400 members of our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). The CSA Coordinator works closely with the Production Manager to plan and organize the weekly CSA distribution, and cooperates and coordinates with the Farm Store Manager, Marketing Manager and PYO Gardener to ensure that CSA distributions are efficient, well-organized, informative and enjoyable experiences for the CSA members and their families. This position and Fishkill Farms offer good growth potential.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service and communication
- Gain thorough knowledge of vegetable and fruit varieties and production nuances through participation in harvest and packing operations.
- Assemble the Summer and Winter CSA programs and pricing, including “add-on” items from local farms, such as dairy, meats and beverages.
- Promote CSA program through flyering and our website enhancements. Track membership sales and payments.
- Assist with setting up and running the on-farm CSA distribution, and ensure that members have excellent information regarding the produce and Pick-Your-Own garden whereabouts and crop availability.
- Create and maintain promotional/informational signage for both the farm and Brooklyn CSA pick-up.
- Keep CSA supplies organized and maintained (containers, signs, tables, tents, scales etc.)
- Assist with planning CSA orientation and seasonal farm events

- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ready to take on the various demands of a farming season schedule with consistency and flexibility
- Creative - art & sign making skills are a plus
- Enthusiastic about organic agriculture and interested in having meaningful interactions with members around food and farming
- Has at least 1 year of customer service experience.
Schedule: This is a year-round position with seasonal variations and Friday & Saturday being critical days.
Requisites: 1 year of cumulative customer service experience, ability to lift 50lbs.
Pay: $17.00 to $20.00 or depending on experience. Benefits include a 401k match, free farm produce, paid time off, two paid holidays and educational opportunities.
Compensation
this position is: hourly, $15-20/hr
